SUMMARY NARRATIVE
Now that the primary runway (runway 16/34) and taxiway (alpha) are open, crews have now shifted focus to working hard on clearing business ramps. We have successfully re-open every business ramp on the airport except for Accurate Aero. Their ramp is slotted to be opened early Wednesday Morning when the heavy equipment operators return.
Our intention is to begin working to clearing the hangar areas Wednesday morning in a joint effort with the heavy equipment contractors. We will work to clear the primary taxiways (Echo, Foxtrot, Golf) first then transition to the individual hangar rows.
Runway 12/30 will remain closed until we are able to get caught up in the hangar and tie-down areas.
Gate access remains challenging as many gates have frozen shut or the ground detector loops can’t detect vehicles through the compacted snow. To prevent tenants from being locked out of the airport, the Soaring Gate (located by the self-serve fuel) is propped open between 8AM-5PM until we can get the other gates back online. We have notice that the Haybourne Road gate and the main P51 gates are reliable.
As always, this plan is dependent on future weather systems. If the airport begins receiving significant snowfall, crews will need to return to clearing the primary runway and taxiway. If you have a flight scheduled a need help removing snow from your hangar, please reach out to the administration office at (775) 782-9871. We will work hard to accommodate any request we receive but please be patient as we are dealing with a lot more snow than we are used to. Please stay tuned for updates.
