MEV SAFETY
The Minden-Tahoe Airport has an unwavering commitment to safety and the wellbeing of our pilots and airport users. This Safety Reporting System (SRS) was developed with the intention of allowing pilots, tenants, and other airport users to communicate situations that could be patently hazardous on the airport.
PILOTS HAVE TWO OPTIONS FOR NOTIFICATON:
FILE WITH THE AIRPORT: This communicates a safety concern relating to local policies, procedures or operations. This report is intended to make the airport aware of situations and allow us to look into the situation and see if improvements to safety can be improved. Note – These notifications will not be used for FAA investigations*.
FILE WITH THE FAA: Instances involving serious safety concerns, FAA rule violations, or possible criminal activities should be reported to the FAA for official investigation. The FAA has set up a Hotline which sends the report to the Washington DC headquarters for review and oversight.
*The airport has a strong relationship with the Reno Flight Standards District Office’s (FSDO) Safety Team. If permitted by indication of the form, the airport would like to share these reports with the Reno FSDO Safety Team in an effort to identify and correct safety deficiencies at the airport. Information collected on this form will not be considered an official FAA complaint and will not be used for disciplinary actions or investigations into pilots. The information provided by you is intended to communicate a situation or concern and allow the airport management and, if permitted, the FSDO Safety Team to evaluate and implement safety controls.
